This is my experiment I did today I had no clue what would happen the only thing I did was put spoonfuls of water in a cup full of sodium polyacrylate expanded until the come was overflowing and then we put salt in and their slowly sunk in and turned the top into water and the turned into more concentrated sodium polyacrylate .I learnt what sodium polyacrylate was and what people use it for. If you know what sodium polyacrylate is and what it does?
Kia ora Frank,
ReplyDeleteWell done on writing such a fantastic blog post about your sodium polyacrylate science experiment!
I was very interested to read how the sodium polyacrylate expanded as you added the water, and dissolved back to a liquid once you added salt.
When you added the water to this ingredient, what texture did the mixture become?
Did the mixture have any particular smell?
How long did the reaction take to occur once you added the salt?
The photo you have included is fantastic, and I really like how focused you are on the science experiment in front of you.
You mentioned in your blogpost how you learnt what sodium polyacrylate was used for and why people use it. It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know what sodium polyacrylate is used for in everyday life!
Keep blogging, you’re doing an awesome job!
